Valuation scenario
A market-cap calculator estimates a coin price if its circulating supply were valued at another asset's market capitalization. It is a fast way to compare scale, but it does not prove that demand, liquidity, emissions, or token economics can support that outcome.
The simplified relationship is price = market capitalization divided by circulating supply. When you apply another asset's market cap to a token's supply, you get a theoretical scenario price. The calculation is simple; the assumptions are not.
A low circulating supply can make a token appear cheap when future tokens have not reached the market. Fully diluted valuation and unlock schedules help reveal dilution risk. A scenario that ignores supply changes may look much stronger than the economic reality.
After calculating a theoretical price, ask what would need to be true: users, revenue or fees, liquidity, narrative, and market conditions. Then set a position size that still makes sense if the thesis is wrong. A large upside percentage does not justify unlimited risk.
