Net trade outcome
A profit calculator turns buy price, sell price, investment amount, and fees into a net gain or loss. It is useful for reviewing a completed trade and planning an exit, provided the inputs reflect the actual costs of execution.
The price difference alone is not your final result. Trading fees, funding, spread, network costs, and taxes can reduce proceeds. Small percentage costs matter more when positions are traded frequently or targets are tight.
The useful output is not just a green or red number. Compare the net result to the original capital and identify the break-even price after fees. That helps avoid taking a nominal gain that is too small to cover the full cost of the trade.
A profit calculation explains one outcome. A journal and P&L tracker explain patterns across many outcomes. Record why you entered, how much risk was planned, and whether the exit followed the plan so you can improve process rather than chase isolated results.
It can when you enter them. Use the actual exchange and network costs whenever possible.
Profit is a money amount. ROI expresses profit or loss as a percentage of capital invested.
