Peruvian sol-referenced stablecoin in Ripio's wFIAT suite
wPEN is Ripio's Peruvian sol-referenced wFIAT token, designed to track its local currency one-to-one and backed, according to Ripio, by liquid instruments denominated in that currency. Ripio publishes the Celo mainnet contract 0x4F34c8b3b5FB6D98Da888F0feA543d4d9C9F2eBE and says the suite also runs across Ethereum, World Chain, Base, Gnosis, Polygon, and BNB Smart Chain. The reserve, collateral, and parity statements are issuer disclosures. Ripio expressly states that wFIAT tokens are not legal tender and are not covered by deposit-protection insurance, so this profile does not imply a central-bank liability, government guarantee, fixed market price, or unconditional redemption right for every holder.
