Argentine peso-referenced stablecoin in Ripio's wFIAT suite
wARS is Ripio's Argentine peso-referenced wFIAT token, designed to track its local currency one-to-one and backed, according to Ripio, by liquid instruments denominated in that currency. Ripio publishes the Celo mainnet contract 0x0dc4f92879b7670e5f4e4e6e3c801d229129d90d and says the suite also runs across Ethereum, World Chain, Base, Gnosis, Polygon, and BNB Smart Chain. The reserve, collateral, and parity statements are issuer disclosures. Ripio expressly states that wFIAT tokens are not legal tender and are not covered by deposit-protection insurance, so this profile does not imply a central-bank liability, government guarantee, fixed market price, or unconditional redemption right for every holder.
