Colombian peso-referenced stablecoin in Ripio's wFIAT suite
wCOP is Ripio's Colombian peso-referenced wFIAT token, designed to track its local currency one-to-one and backed, according to Ripio, by liquid instruments denominated in that currency. Ripio publishes the Celo mainnet contract 0x8a1d45e102e886510e891d2ec656a708991e2d76 and says the suite also runs across Ethereum, World Chain, Base, Gnosis, Polygon, and BNB Smart Chain. The reserve, collateral, and parity statements are issuer disclosures. Ripio expressly states that wFIAT tokens are not legal tender and are not covered by deposit-protection insurance, so this profile does not imply a central-bank liability, government guarantee, fixed market price, or unconditional redemption right for every holder.
