The Central Bank of Kuwait's July 2023 circular strictly prohibits using virtual assets as a payment instrument, recognising them as decentralised currency, or dealing with them as an investment. It also says no licence will be granted to provide virtual-asset services as commercial work, no licences had been issued previously, and all virtual-asset and currency mining is prohibited. The 2021 statement also says crypto-assets are not regulated or supervised by an authority in Kuwait.
