The Bank of Greece is Greece's central bank and prudential supervisor. Under Greek Law 5193/2025 it has defined MiCAR responsibilities for supervised credit institutions, electronic-money institutions, and payment institutions that issue certain tokens or provide crypto-asset services. Its role is shared by entity and service type; it is not the sole authority for every Greek crypto business.
