Velocity's current docs describe a perpetual futures exchange and money market deployed as one Solana program. Trading is perps-only; spot order placement has been removed.
Orders are stored on-chain and a decentralized order book is assembled off-chain by keepers. Fills can use resting orders, just-in-time makers, or the protocol AMM; the app does not rely on one central matching engine.
A subaccount's collateral backs all of its perpetual positions and is lendable while deposited. Withdrawal limits and account margin checks can affect how quickly assets are available.
Velocity's official docs say the program forked from Drift Protocol v2 and that Drift's earlier audits apply to the forked codebase. Velocity publishes a separate post-fork audit record; this is lineage, not a Drift rebrand.
Check current terms on the official site before trading. Fees, leverage, markets, access, and collateral can change or depend on the account.
