Is staking passive income?

It can produce protocol rewards, but it is not risk-free income. Token-price changes, lockups, validator performance, custody and smart-contract risks can outweigh rewards.

Are staking rewards fixed?

No. Reward rates, commissions, validator performance and network rules can change. Check the protocol or provider's current documentation rather than a historical APY.

Is liquid staking the same as native staking?

No. Liquid staking usually adds a third-party protocol and a receipt token. That introduces smart-contract, liquidity, depeg and governance risk.

Does an exchange staking product keep self-custody?

Usually no. The exchange controls the operational process and you bear counterparty, withdrawal and insolvency risk in addition to protocol risk.
