Bitcoin Cash runs Bitcoin's original UTXO design with a much larger block limit, so routine payments settle directly on-chain instead of in a second layer. Difficulty adjustments keep block times stable regardless of hashrate swings, and the CashTokens extension adds native fungible and non-fungible tokens to the base layer. Security comes from SHA-256 proof-of-work, sharing the same mining algorithm family as Bitcoin.

BCH captures value as money to be spent, not as a productivity claim on an application layer: fees are deliberately kept near zero, so network usage does not translate into revenue for holders. The value case is monetary premium — a scarce 21-million-cap asset whose utility is cheap settlement — and it competes for that role with Bitcoin itself and with stablecoins.
The supply schedule is Bitcoin's: a hard cap of 21 million coins with issuance halving roughly every four years. There are no pre-mine allocations to unwind and no protocol treasury; miner revenue and market demand fund everything. That simplicity is the point — supply policy is fixed and cannot be voted on.
There is no on-chain governance. Protocol changes emerge from independent full-node implementations whose software users choose to run, coordinated through informal developer groups and community consensus. The 2018 split that produced Bitcoin SV showed how far that process can fracture when agreement fails.
